I would try the inductor trick but the high frequency transients also need a path to dissipate. I would either supply a dummy load on the gen side of the toroid/inductance or a MOV rated about 220 Vdc or 130 vac (same unit usually). When you reject the high frequency quantizing noise from the load it may back up and damage the output pf the inverter.
I am surprised Honda would put this out without some circuitry to kill the quantizing noise as best they can. perhaps this person has a damaged output filter or this isn't what you question is about all together?...LOL
Well, you make good points, but again, I believe this is some strange grounding deal. I think the HF may get shunted back to frame ground, and fed back to the furnace over the ground lead or somehting
