It's a blue Christmas for Traceeee Hutchison, already gloomy over Kevin Rudd's failure to deliver the promise of the momentum for kick-starting that heralds a new dawn.

Just a few months ago, she anticipated a gleeful December:

Bring on the price rise. I know that I'm supposed to be worried about petrol going up, but something about the hysterical predictions that we'll be paying $2 a litre for it by the end of the year has been strangely exhilarating.

No years' end exhilaration for Traceeee.

Petrol has plunged to below $1:

This bloke seems happy enough.
Something must be wrong with him.
