What We Are Measuring Is Urbanisation Not Climate

We Are Not Skeptical Enough About The Data
November 27 2008

: We are not sceptical enough about the data.

For instance, Plimer cited differences between results from temperature measuring stations in
urban and rural areas.

Those in urbanised Chicago, Berkeley, New York, and
so on, show temperature rises over the past 150 years, whereas those in the
rural US, in Houlton, Albany and Harrisburg (though not Death Valley,
California) show equally consistent cooling.

"What we're measuring is urbanisation," Plimer said.

Ahahahahah....
Bonzo the Perptual Loser.

Here are the global average temperatures since 1958. "o" = trend line.
Look at all those "o"'s lined up there. The trend is up, Up, UP.
And most recently the rate of increase is about 2'C per century.

Oh really???

YES, BONZO, REALLY! The oceans are warming.

Correcting Ocean Cooling: NASA Changes Data to Fit the Models

Here are data from Britain's Hadley Centre, not NASA. They start in 1850, years before NASA was born. They clearly show that our planet's oceans are warming, and there are very few urban centers in the sea.
Here, from Hadley Centre, are the global sea surface temperatures from 1850 to 2007. Please see:
http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/data/temperature/
http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/data/temperature/hadsst2gl.txt
The yearly means of these data are graphed here:

Look at the graph, Bonzo. The oceans were warming before NASA existed and urban centers have nothing to do with this warming trend.

Correcting Ocean Cooling: NASA Changes Data to Fit the Models
November 11 2008

NASA scientist, Josh Willis, was so concerned that his data, showing ocean cooling, did not fit the official consensus on climate change that he searched for a solution. Eventually he "applied a correction" so the historical ocean temperature record showed a relatively steady increase in line with the climate models.

Perhaps Dr Willis really did get it wrong between 2003 and 2005 when his data showed a large decrease in the heat content of the ocean. But after reading his justification for the correction, I am not convinced. Indeed and I am left wondering how to ever trust the official temperature record again.

This is Dr Willis' story:
On a Thursday evening in February 2007, Josh Willis stood in front of his laptop, his wife cajoling him to get ready to go out to dinner. He looked with a sinking feeling at the map he had just made. Willis, a scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, specializes in making estimates of how much heat the ocean stores from year to year. Read more

It still makes sense when you consider that trawling has almost totally desertised the places they can reach.
Most weather stations are in places where most people live and they see an upsurge from the two world war baby booms. A series that continues every 20 to 25 years following the period doubling or increase.
With a striking figure seen after WW 2, the next generation also exhibits traces somewhat less marked but still marked in the region of 20 to 25 years. And that too will show up again in another 20 to 30 years.
It takes a considerable time lapse to level off.
