Steve, thanks for your response, but they do not donate to projects like this but that is where I will obtain my parts and equipment.
I have been in contact with them for several years and just haven't been able to get it started yet.
Thanks again!

I don't know where you have been for the last year or two, but Honda and Toyota have some really nice electric vehicles already built.
If you are wondering if pure battery power works, it does. Porsche did did it around 1905. http://leo.worldonline.es/jaumepor/angles/porsches/loh_porsche.htm If you are wondering how straight non-hybrid works, today, it works fine. I tried it (http://www.geocities.com/ecarecar/nissan), but don't bother. It's a huge amount of work. If you are determined, buy a used Toyota or Honda hybrid and take out the engine.

My idea of a hybrid is an electric pickup truck with the batteries and a little rv gen in the bed.

I didn't think you were asking for donations, I thought you were looking for info.

Exactly. I saw a s10 pickup like this in VT. Biodiesel generator in back. It was a yanmar IIRC.

I might donate you few bucks if you prove me your current progress till todate on this project, after all you are dreaming on this project for some time ....right ? show us some pictures and any paper work on your website ?
If you have NOTHING ....all bloony then you are one FUCKTARD asshole who is trying to make quick bucks thinking ppls are stupid here and will donate you money for your project.
I am working on similar project and what ever means and funds I can spare for it I am working on it slowly but yes progress is there ...... and for this kinda project you don't need million $$$$$$$ to experiment.......... you can always start with little money and I don't see any major investment needed in here, even a care can be bought from junk yard for few hundred bucks ....or may be they will donate you free if you tell them about your intention for building electric car.
Now don't tell me you don't have few hundred $$$$$ in pocket ...... and lets suppose you don't have it even that amount......then you are better off to go fuck your self in IRAQ then dreaming about this project, cauz may be you make some money while serving in IRAQ and if you survive there, probably you don't have to beg here ........ Got my POINT ?

I think they call those series hybrids because the engine is not driving parallel with the electric motor. Tzero has a sports car that runs on batteries and you can tow a small streamlined trailer behind it with a two cylinder Kawasaki motorcycle engine in it driving a large alternator.

I saw an article one time, I can't remember if it was online or in a magazine, but a guy converted a VW rabbit to electric. As a range extender, he took the front of a second VW rabbit with the engine and powertrain and make a "trailer" with it and it was set up so he connect that behind the electric rabbit and when the batteries got low, he could start the gas-burner and go on.
That was interesting!
If I can find that article again, I'll post a link to it here.
