Solar-assisted Toyota Prius goes pro, sort of...
A few months ago, we discussed an amateur's modifying his Toyota Prius with on-board solar photovoltaics:

Well, it's far from the most cost-efficient idea, but it obviously inspires people. Now you can buy a commercial PV kit for the rooftop of your Prius, and gain an extra few MPG (up to 5).

The solar Prius accessory retails for $2195.00. That's a lot of cash for 30 watts of electrical output! It's also a lot more expensive than the RV solar chargers we discussed previously. For that price, I'll leave my PV modules on the roof of my house.

Now, if someone offered a PHEV-10 upgrade for the Prius at that same price point, I would buy it.
