Because organic gardening is actually going back to the way farming was

done. With reduce pesticides ,etc. You have a higher percentage of crop loss...besides there is some political fashion modeling on the pricing. At the same time going the course,that we are with free trade countries. Like Mexico are not restricted from using DDT or for that that matter the rat pioson on the grain elevator wheat in news,right lately. In the pet food deaths......

Lesson in econ. You can either sell a lot of units at a small profit per unit or sell a few units at a big profit per unit. A farmer who does not use all the stuff above produces fewer units (bushels of wheat, gallons of milk, etc.) and therefore must sell each unit for more to make the same amount of profit. Also these farmers are usually small farm farmers meaning their cost per unit is much higher than the big farms making it necessary to have even more profit per unit.

because he, for his time, get LESS to market from same ground space.

Because the yeild is less than half and he has to hire three times the personnel to control the diseases the hard way.
Costs go way up and yields go way down.
Did you really think farmers buy all those pesticides because they enhance the food flavour?
