CDT Systems Contracts to Provide Carbon Aerogel Hydrogen Generators http://www.cdtwater.com http://www.energyenhancement.ca
DALLAS, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CDT Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CDTN) (CDTN), Dallas, Texas, has completed an agreement with Energy Enhancement Technologies, Inc., Aurora, Ontario, Canada (http://www.energyenhancement.ca ) whereby Energy Enhancement will incorporate CDT Systems' proprietary Carbon Aerogel technology as the Hydrogen Generator in its process for hydrogen/oxygen stream injection into air/fuel mixtures for internal combustion engines. The contract specifies that Energy Enhancement will have exclusive rights for CDT Systems' Carbon Aerogel Hydrogen Generator for air intake units for internal combustion engines in exchange for issuing CDT Systems a 5% equity position in Energy Enhancement as well as maintaining increasing minimum purchases. Jack Cohen, President of Energy Enhancement Inc. (EET), said, "The Carbon Aerogel Hydrogen Generator is an integral component of the air intake systems which will initially be installed on diesel locomotives. The hydrogen system will increase performance, reduce fuel consumption by more than 20% and significantly reduce engine emissions." CDT Systems and EET are evaluating joint venture opportunities with industry leaders in additional market segments, e.g. trucking, automotive and marine. The objective is to maximize the hydrogen industry's utilization of Carbon Aerogel and brand it as the material of choice for hydrogen production. Carbon Aerogel's patented nanostructure provides a hydrogen/oxygen collection area that is 60,000 times the surface area of the Aerogel, which provides for increased hydrogen output while using less amperage in the hydrogen generation. With Carbon Aerogel technology, no caustic chemicals are necessary to produce the electrolytic effect and as such, a closed loop system of recovering water from the exhaust system is practical. EET will first target the diesel electric locomotive, stationary generator and ocean going vessel markets. CDT Systems is the licensee for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's (LLNL) patented capacitive deionization technology for water purification and desalination applications. LLNL has granted a worldwide license to CDT Systems, Inc. for continued development, manufacturing and marketing of Carbon Aerogel and Capacitive Deionization Technology. The Company's proprietary technology, when combined with the LLNL licensed technology, can be incorporated in applications, including: brackish water desalination; industrial and agricultural ground water remediation; pure water for boiler applications; and production of ultra pure water for electronic, medical and food process manufacturing. Additional Carbon Aerogel applications developed by CDT Systems include thermal insulation and hydrogen generation.
