I'd seen a company a few years ago that was selling solar paint, for your roof, etc., that you laid out in photovoltaic grids. I'd had their advertising back then, but it's buried within a few too many moves....
Anyone seen such a mature co? I can't find anything but speculation on the web at this time.

You can't find anything but speculation about solar paint because, at this time, there just isn't any such animal. It doesn't exist.
That said, Unisolar has field applied laminates that are essentially 'peel and stick' flexible solar PV panels. The idea is to buy your own metal roofing and you stick the PV panels on top but it doesn't have to be metal roofing. You can stick them to any appropriate surface, say the top of a van or RV. There are also any number of solar shingles available.

"solar" is a term that can be used to sway the general public way too easily. most don't understand the details, and think they are becoming "solar" by using a "solar" product.
i've seen the term used for simply white paint "solar cooling" because it reflects generally. more recently i saw it at a pool trade show for "solar insulation" - an alcohol based material <liquid> that you poor in the pool. it inhibits the evaporation of water, hense evaporative cooling. ~ works, but isn't 100% of what you'd really call "solar insualtion".
when energy prices go up, adding "solar" as a definer to your product will add sales.
see ya

About six months ago, there was a small article in Composites Technology magazine. I may have saved the issue, and will try to look for it at work on monday and let you know the name of the company, or researchers that are developing this technology.

Looked for the magazine at work, but must have trashed it; I know the product is there, but can offer no further help.
