Columbia, SC--Organizers of the premiere regional fuel cell event, FuelCellSouth 2006, announced today that Plug Power Chief Roger Saillant will present the Inaugural Keynote Address during the Annual Conference and Expo, April 24-26 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Saillant's appearance is a timely one. Various news sources were reporting earlier today that Plug Power Inc. (Nasdaq Symbol: PLUG), the Latham, NY supplier of PEM fuel cells has reached agreements with LOGANEnergy Corp. and Pacific Telepoint Inc. to distribute the Company's GenCore® product line in the United States and South Korea, respectively.
New Distributors a Good Fit
Plug Power's sales and marketing strategy seems to fit with these new distributors and their strengths very well. Both LOGANEnergy and Telepoint plan to target customers in the telecom, utility and public sectors, where the market need for reliable backup power is well solidified. According to a press release issued by Plug Power this morning, LOGANEnergy plans to focus on their existing customer base of government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State and the Federal Aviation Administration. Pacific Telepoint intends to distribute Plug Power's GenCore® systems to various South Korean telecommunications, industrial and utility companies.
